WoWMimic Detection (Again)

Yea man, this is bigger then me, you're so goddamn macho with your programming skills. You must have so much free time on your hands, if you're decompiling public bots, reading it and making all these posts about it.

I've got a life dude. Don't have time nor care about learning how to code a bot. I'll happily pay money for someone else do to that for me, whilst I enjoy things that actually matter. In the end, instead of actually acting mature and caring about the community and forwarding your finding to mimic devs, you want to forward this stuff to blizzard, which will aid them in banning public bot users. Nerd rage much?

You're a supposed skilled programmer. You've decompiled mimic code, you can;

1) Help people using the public bot mimic, by sending this information to the mimic devs, which will hopefully allow them to review and update their code.
2) Do nothing.
3) Send this stuff to blizzard <--- wtf

Actually so far all I've done is number 1. Just in a public manner in order to expose their lying. If you would rather that Kynox, Harko, and myself just left it alone and you guys were stuck thinking that your bot has some kind of Warden protection when it DOESN'T thats your own stupid fault. But some people actually appreciate our work, and whether or not you can bot is not exactly high up on my priority list.

So what if I have a lot of free time and enjoy programming and reversing? I see nothing wrong with that. You jealous?

Whats ironic is that I'm not the one 'nerd raging', it's all the mimic folks who think I'm some kind of evil ******* out to kill all public bots that are doing the raging.

Cypher did this just to expose the truth about mimic & how easy it can be detected.

now people, please stop flaming him & making him retaliate.

Points have been made & I think this shouldn't be taken any further to avoid this community into turning to one big flame community.

Barnzy, while I would actually like to close this thread, I think it needs to stay open.

This is a major wake up call to all of the public bot creators. There currently isn't a single bot with even half decent protection against Warden, yet most of them claim they do.

If you want to sit in your little enviro-bubble away from all the badness of the world, feel free. However, it's people like Cypher, kynox, Harko, who are keeping Blizzard from banning your account. (Or at least attempting to...)

Most of the general public believe whatever they are told. There are a select few who actually understand how things work, and publicly explain (to a degree) what the hell is going on. If you guys want to flame the hell out of him for exposing a lie, and exposing vulnerabilities, then you've got much worse issues to deal with.

If Mimic was your bank account, and Cypher just showed how to get into your account, and take every single penny out of it without any need for your information, etc, wouldn't there be a completely different reaction? (Think about that similie... it's actually very accurate...)

QFT. I would appreciate what Cypher is doing, and if I were a WoWMimic dev I would take it as a wakeup call and actually attempt to implement something, instead of lying to your customers.

I really don’t get why some people are flaming Cypher and the other guys who put effort into showing that a product is blatantly lying about being detection free, would you rather a Blizzard developer found this out first and simply ban everyone’s account silently, which would have very likely happened judging by the flaws that have been stated already.

I want to apologize for yesterdays reactions. I was in a very tough situation regarding my family arguing over weather they should split up and who would get my baby sister. I do not want to suck Cyphers ***** just to clear that one up. Also, I have actually spent time to read up on WHY this has been done and I would like to personally apologize to Cypher for myself jumping to conclusions. I hope you all accept my apologies and forget about my previous stupidity.

great point you make, but would you want cypher to release how to get into your bank account to the world? obviously not. he could have kept this on the down low and helped them out by getting in contact with them, instead of turning it into a flame war.

Honestly, I'd rather him release how to do it, so everyone else can protect against it. It's not a difficult concept, as it happens daily for hundreds of thousands of software apps (including web based apps).

Yeah, I have respect for coders here like Cypthor? forgot how you spell his name :d lol, anyway:

I did have mimic until my subscription ran out, was going to re-buy until I saw what little protection it has, so I decided not to.

I bought for pvp, pirox tools, which I think does have protection against Warden, not so sure though.

Anyway, so yeah, I mean as Cythor reccomends not to use the bot until it becomes safer, hence I will listen to him as he is a respected coder.
