Most gamers don't have much experience in the field of networking, so pretty colours are easier to interpret than numbers.

You can view your actual ping (or rather, very close to it) by changing the number of lines to 10, and making each line represent 20ms. It's just a quick CVar change.

Modern Warfare blows *******. Especially on PC, they don't even have protection on simple cvars that can be accessed by the console.

That doesn't make it a sucky game, it's just got horrible (read: non-existent) cheat protection and an awful P2P system.

It's still very fun to play though.

I play it online atm with a MP crack, must admit it's pretty fun to play. Gonna buy it soon
