    how does blizzard handle bans?

just as the title asks i want to toy around with botting (not on my main account of course) but i was wondering how do they ban? will they only ban my main account? or just the account that was botted on? also do i have to worry about such things as ip bans?

They dont ban by IP afaik. They dont ban your whole b.net account, just the account you botted on.

E: You can also get flagged by warden and get the ban days or weeks after.

Yup, they don't ban by IP (except the case when they hit the HB devs at the same time). It mostly depends on player reports - as long as your bot doesn't look and act retarded, you have more chance to avoid ban.

Also, it's rare that you get all your accounts banned at the same time. I've been banned on like 2/10 or 3/10, but only few times they wiped all my accounts and it was for gathering, lol

From personal experience, I know for a fact that this statement is FALSE.

They do ban by IP all the account connected to WoW at the time you are botting and getting caught.

Means: If you are botting on account X, and playing your main on account Y, both X & Y will be banned (if they are reliable by the IP ofc), since both account exploit botting. (One IS botting and the other profit of being able to bot afk with another account.

What they do not do, is ban all account on the same IP if they aren't logged in at the time of the caught. You can be banned and bot with another account 10 minutes later on the same IP without any trouble.

this does not happen all the time.

nobody knows for sure how and why blizz bans accounts. it is all speculation. if you are telling people otherwise, you are wrong.
