Hmmm I don't know why your having such bad problems with the mage, when I leveled mine I never had problems like this, make sure you have pull distances set right and all of the timers set, and what spec is he? When I had mine when I'd go frost I would just change all my fireball stuff to frostbolt and fireblast to CoC.

Great diary. I've just succesfully glided a mage from 1-60. They're not too easy but it is possible, everything depends on your spec. I was frost until level 47 where I respecced, Ice Barrier is great but a fire mage kills so much faster.
