PE install / setup guide

Being completely new to this, I see a lot of guides / threads regarding post-install help, but no thread for how to install PE (and associated programs) in order to initially get it working. Not sure if I just missed it or if it's supposed to be this convoluted on how to do the initial setup...

1. I have gleaned that you need to download and unzip PE into a wow interface/addon folder (not sure if it needs a specific one/name or whatnot).
2. Also, you need some other program (an unlocker?), and it's arbitrary which one you can use. Not sure where to get those / how to install them.
3. You need to acquire a profile for you class(es) for PE to run. (which will be pretty straight forward, once 1 & 2 are accomplished).

If anyone could throw down a quick crash course on this, it would be greatly appreciated!
Or if there's already a thread for it, a link would also be awesome.

1. The folder should be named "Probably".
2. Lua Unlockers can be found on these forums, Popular ones are Firehack(payed) and Offspring(free).
3. Profiles can be found in Probably Engine => Combat Routine sub forum, There are some that come with PE too.

I haven't used Offspring, So the only difference I have seen is FH is 64bit while Offspring can only run in 32bit

yeah and you have to pay for FH...

Also EWT here on the forums. Pretty simple to use. For instructions on how to use a particular unlocker, refer to that unlockers respective thread/website.

1. Extract the Probably folder too your addons. (should be called 'Probably', just plain ol Probably)
2. Extract/download the desired combat routine to your addons folder. SHould be called "Probably_NameOfRoutine"
3. Launch either 32bit or 64bit wow (depending on which Unlocker you chose, as the unlockers require you to use a certain one)
4. Enter game on desired character
5. Load/Open your desired Unlocker (refer to that unlockers respective instructions)
6. Right-Click on the left most Icon of the Probably bar (if your first time, will be in the center of your screen)
7. You'll see a dropdown list, chose the installed combat routine (some classes have default ones that are.. very basic)
8. To use, make sure that first ICON is toggled, that is your toggle on/off switch.

(also, to move the bar out of the center of your screen, click/rightclick **dont remember which** the Green Goblin addon icon around your minimap, you should be able to drag your PE bar whereever you wanna put it)

Hey, thanks for spending time to list the steps, got few lil questions.
1. does the rotation need to be in the folder that PE is in? e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Probably\rotations) or should I just stick it in the addOns folder?
2. I've loaded up the addOn, Offspring as a lua unlocker was also launched and attatched to a 32 bit client but once i go ingame and toggle the rotation on, nothing happens. I've read various posts about this and I cant seem to get it right. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read&answer

Make sure your loading 32bit wow. Most unlocks are 32bit only. Also make sure you use administrator.
Make sure you have both the PE add-on and the specific class addon enabled in your add-ons. Then in game make sure you right click the first box, (the pe toggle) and have that rotation selected. Then you want to load the unlocker of your choice. Do a reload ui. And it should say: such n such unlock detected, in your chart box. Also note I've read that some profiles aren't working on target dummies."

I also did everything you said here, I'm just trying to get any rotation working so im sticking with the basic shaman, tried it on dummies, then went to attack some random mobs unfortunately nothing happens, I get a message that offspring is detected and ele shammy is loaded but, I toggle the rotation button as well.

Offspring IS detected? damn you, I cant get it to work. lol.

I ended up going w/ oLUA. seems to be working fine w/ the base rotation that loaded w/ PE.
How do I select which rotation profile I want to use (once I create one for my spec?)


Also, I can't move the PE UI.

Apparently, that did not work.

You can change it on the battle.net launcher > Setting > Game Settings > Check "Launch 32-bit Client (instead of 64-bit)

To move the ui press the green goblin icon near your minimap. To load the custom combat routines try to put them into the folder where basic ones are within PE I've tried that and it appeared once I clicked the button to toggle the rotation however I wasn't able to try it since mine doesn't work yet. Once I get home il try oLua. Mackdaddy, have you managed to find the file which needs editing?

Must of missed that one.. I just didnt think its Offsprings fault, but guess it is as it worked with the fix suggested in the post. Anyway thanks a lot Mackdaddy for taking your time to answer the same questions over and over +rep.

Also, FE lets you use advanced conditions in the rotations. Don't know wether that's possible with Offspring.
