I have no clue what the hell you are talking about.
It's not that I'm lazy to change my sig, it's just because I'm so gangsta.

Re: WoW Sniffer : The working

Ok here is a simple explanation for packets.

For this example we will do something like tying "Hello Bob"

1. You log into wow, and decide to type (on your keyboard) "Hello Bob"
2. Your computer reads that you have typed "Hello Bob", and changes this into a packet.
3. The packet is then sent to the server
(WoW runs on a server, and every time something on your computer, that is related to Wow, or when something happens in WoW, the two communicate.)
4. The Server reads the packet, and then displays "Hello Bob"

That is basically how a packet works. Just about every action you take when playing wow, is at one point or another changed into a packet, and sent to the server.

I hope this clears things up for everyone.

Definition of a Packet-
(pak´it) (n.) A piece of a message transmitted over a packet-switching network. See under packet switching. One of the key features of a packet is that it contains the destination address in addition to the data. In IP networks, packets are often called datagrams. -http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/p/packet.html

Sniffers Only reads the information sending between client <-> server and does not in anyway alter or modify any packets.

Wireshark can also sniff the packets wich transmit between your world of warcraft client <-> wow server.

Maybe you should make it real simple so all we do is open a .exe and use it.

As far as I'm aware WPE injects code into the process to do the level of filtering it does, this is highly detectable. I suggest using a more passive tool such as Wireshark. On another note, check out the WinSock library for APIs to sniff/modify packets.

Didn't know that about WPE but I don't think it is already high detactable, when writing the guide I needed to go somewere that took 3 hours so he was attached to WoW for 3 hours and no ban.
