Glider to Pocket Gnome Profile Converter!

A new release addressing certain issues is now available:

Fixed:
Cannot get item 3 of... - Issue now fixed. If your profile only have X and Y coordinates it just sets it to 0

Progress.app not found - Erm...this MIGHT be fixed. Not realy sure I've tested it on about 10 different machines here at work ALL running 10.5.6 and it seem's fine.

Future Updates:
Batch conversion - select a folder and it will convert every glider profile in that folder keeping the profiles original name.

Ghost waypoints - I have started work on these but it's a hassle so far, don't expect this any time soon.

I havn't bothered including a virus scan as it's a .zip file for a mac so you can download it, NOT open it and scan it yourself if your über paranoid.

Please read the Read Me. nothing has changed interface wise but there's lots of information and a small FAQ and guide in there that might help with any issues you are having.

This is shiny! I am myself a Mac user and have been using Pocket Gnome for a while. Will most likely use this! +Repx3!

I can't post on the forum's I've only been a pocket gnome user for about a month and GO hasn't made me a forums account yet because when I paid I had my paypal account set to an old address and forums registrations are closed.

Hello Dave,

I had a problem with Progress.app which I have already resolved. But now I have tried your software with a few profiles and I get wrong values. For example: X: 631708 Y: 569765 Z: 5336.
My bot gets out of the zone I should be.

Also, you can find that the distance between waypoints is from 1.000yd yo 7.000yd what sounds crazy.


I believe this is gonna be an essential app. I hope you could fix all this problems.

Not 100% sure what you mean but I'll do my best to try and diagnose it.

The first window to appear is where you choose your glider file to convert.

The one that appears after that is just a dialog box so you can give your profile a name. I have notived a slight bug with the name dialog box in that if you put a huge name in it will cut the end off & add #0 instead and there will be no .route either. But the profile does will work in Pocket Gnome.

Igonx What version of OS X are you running?

Progress.app is bundeled inside of the converter just as a visual diaplay so you can see what it's doing.

You MIGHT (dunno why) have to turn on access for assistive devices in system preferences>universal access it's a tick box at the bottom.

Appologies to those people having problems with this. It was written for 10.5 (leopard) and works fine on 4 other machines I tested it on.

iGonx actually fixed this for me. My own stupid fault for assuming rather than going with the safe option.

to fix it follow these steps:

1)Right click the program and goto "Show Package Contents"

2)Goto Contents>Resources>Scripts>progress

3) In there is another file called progress. Click on it, press enter to rename it & just put a .app on the end.

The program should now run.
I'll reupload a fixed version later today

if your not using an English version of OS X this happens due to the way ASCII is parsed.

For some reason the script can't read the . I am looking into it at the moment and I think I have a work around I am installing a french version of OS X (as my house mate speaks fluent french) to see if it works on there any people who have other localization's of OS X add me on MSN if you wanna test it (already have spanish and french).

Hope to have a fix soon. In the mean time if your having issues add me on MSN I'll be more then happy to convert your profiles for you if I have a moment.
