Screenshot Watermark Disabler

This program will disable the watermarking of screenshots in WoW. These watermarks contain information such as your account name and a timestamp (possibly more, I haven't looked).

This is a patch for Wow.exe. To use it, download and run the program. Click "Browse" and select the Wow.exe that you want to patch, and then click patch. Watermarking will then be disabled.
If you want to remove the patch, uncheck "Disable Watermark" and patch Wow.exe with it again. Remember to back up your Wow.exe before using it.

It is currently undetected on retail.
It only supports WoW 5.0.4 (16016) x86 currently.

If I read the source correctly you are redirecting the pointer to bogus data?
A slightly cleaner method would be to force the jump at 58DCAC to completely skip the watermarking of the image. It's the check for image type and quality level. For some reason it doesn't get added to TGAs or max quality JPEGs. Maybe to make it harder to notice or something?

The watermark system identifies you personally..

Aside from that in its own right..say you post a screenshot of..anything..as a specific example that compliments the point..a screenshot of you exploiting..loading a hack..doing anything that could get you suspended/banned..

You can be found with the watermark..

Someone should remove the null terminator from one of the strings and send some threatening screenshot to Blizzard and lol when their decoder crashes. This is such a bitch move from Blizzard.

Personally, as I care more for the technical side of it and not the personal integrity stuff, I think it's pretty cool. If I were Blizzard I would have had it render to the framebuffer instead of just to screenshots since it's virtually invisible unless you know what to look for. Imagine being able to identify all those hack and bot videos posted on youtube
