Sick of camping that rare NPC you’ve been looking for for such a long time? RareSpotter camps and searches for you! No need to wait near your PC anymore and press buttons to not go afk. This application notifies you by sound and optionally pushmessages to your phone/tablet so you dont have to be close to your pc!

REQUIREMENTS:

• PC with windows
• .NET NOT needed!
• If you want to use the real-time notification service you will need to download the pushover.net app from Google Play or App Store. It has a very small fee (< 4$). You pay for the app, the service is free.
• An Android/Apple device that supports push-messages.

SECURITY:

• At random time intervals, between 10 and 60 minutes, the application caption will be renamed
• At random time intervals, between 30 seconds and 4 minutes, the anti-AFK feature will be triggered
• The application will not be shown on the taskbar. You can only ALT-TAB to it
• Make sure to rename the executable to a non-WoW-affiliate name.
• Bare in mind: placing you’re character at 1 camping position for a whole week, day and night, is suspicious.
• The application reads the memory from the WoW process and does NOT write any values into it. The application does however simulate key-strokes to the WoW-Window to not go AFK.

INSTALLATION:
1) Download the file and unpack it into a desired directory. Make sure the directory is writable because on the first start, the tool will create a settings.ini file!
2) Like said in the security part of this post: rename the executable to a non-WoW-affiliate name.
3) To use push notifcations: register for you’re free account at pushover.net. After that, download the app on your favourite device(google play/app store). On pushover.net create a new virtual application. That will leave you with a token and a username which need to be filled out in the application.

USAGE:
1) Start WoW
2) Start RareSpotter
3) Place you’re character at the camping-spot
4) Choose the WoW process. You can also press the refresh button to get the new list of WoW processes.
5) Fill the Rare To Spot field. This field is NOT case-sensitive and only requires a piece of the NPC name. For example: “pos” will alert the user upon spotting “Poseidus”
6) Choose the interval to ping for the rare. This option is by default set to 1 second. On some PC’s the gathering of the info might be too consuming so there’s an option to enlarge the interval.
7) Choose if you want to play a sound or not when the rare is spotted. The sound will play continuously until the rare is not near the player anymore or when it is dead.
8.) Choose if you want the application to prevent the player from going AFK.
9) Choose if you want push messages to be sent to you’re device. Fill the user/token/title/message fields. Only 1 message will be sent.
10) Choose if you want the application to wake up the screen. When starting the application you can also press the Off-button to dim the screen.
11) If you want, you can press the Save button to write the current configuration to the settings.ini file. Next time you start up, all settings are still there.
12) Press start to start the camping. By the way: it’s not a problem to play WoW and have the application searching meanwhile.

Pretty simple; If u go AFK, you disconnect after a while... You don't want that to happen :-)
Unless you got you're own Anti-AFK application, you can also uncheck this option so it will not do the anti-AFK.

Btw, new version of the tool coming up next week. I added an option to turn the screen off, upon spotting the rare it will pop you're screen on, so you can get to the rare quickly!

It's not a flaw of this application, it's just not possible; You're character must be in range of the rare to be spotted.

Upon detection of the rare you only get a warning sound / alert. In one of the next versions a visual radar will be included that shows you where the rare is.

Well, small differences;
- It has a larger scanning area
- Safer AFK'ing
- Its an all in 1 tool , no addons needed.

And in future also screendimming on / off to make sure you can get into action really quick.

For all those that use it, there's a small update; visual radar, screen (un)dimming, minor bug with AFK removed.
