Would duplicating the android authenticator be as easy as copy/pasting the xml file from one device to another? Or is there more to it?

I am interested in using this authenticator, but is it possible to use it on multiple computers? Do I just have to copy over the .xml file or what? Because I want to be able to use this authenticator at my mom's house as well as my dad's house.
Yes, it can be used on multiple computers, you just to need to load the authenticator.xml file wherever you are using WinAuth.
To get it there:
- You can do a "Save As..." in WinAuth (selecting no encryption or an explicit password)
- You can use the "Backup..." option to email it to yourself
- You can just copy the "%APPDATA%\Windows Authenticator\authenticator.xml" file
On the other computers, you can just do a "Load Authenticator..." and optionally re-save it with "Save As..." to change the encryption method.

Hello I used this and now the code doesn't work. anyideas how to fix i have tried to sync it said it worked but still doesn't work.
I created a new Auth. It worked at first and then didn't work the next day. 1.1.1035. I have gotten removed only took 2 hours :P
I LOVE this program! finally a "real" authenticator for our phones without having to deal with java emulators.
TY very much. Been workin great for me and my friends =) we all are able to easily login to each other's accounts without having to communicate what the code is every time (computer version).
Q for computer version:
Is it possible to have an option to minimize to system tray/auto startup. I always have it running 24/7 since it is minor on resources and i get dc'd a lot lol. With system tray option i could have it run on start up and never have to bother with it. ( I use the keystroke to auto login -amazing!).
and About the Mobile Version.
Could it be possible to add an import key using the computer's XML file + the .db?
-Friend started with computer version and we had to completely remake a java emulated authenticator so we can get/edit its .db file to the computers codes etc. pain and alot work. Be a lot nicer to be able to easily have a way to transfer from Computer to Phone either way for new keys.
An option to easily switch between different Authenticators (if u use multiple ones/friends) within the mobile app, like how u can with computer, would be lovely too.
Sorry those were just some of my things I've wondered about having added. Not sure if you were looking for any ideas but thought might as well put in my 2 cents.
It is truly alrdy an amazing program and as i've said many of my friends actually now have authenticators on their accounts because of this. They never wanted my old java emulated ones and had no iPhone/official to get another way.
What are the chances you could make something like this for blackberry?
Good idea. I'll work on adding it.
The WM version is able to load the Java file (see the Import option in menu). However, it doesn't select the file to load, only because I thought it wouldn't be something that would be used on a mobile version. You can always just file copy the authenticator.xml file over to the phone to use a specific key. Is that what you wanted to do?
I'll look at doing this too.
Thanks for your comments. I am glad you are finding it as useful as I do.

To be honest, not something I was planning, as there is an official Blackberry one. I really only did the Windows Mobile because there wasn't one for it.
Hey guys, question here. Does this change effect these authenticators?
Thanks
oh wow >.< im dumb! i didn't know i could just use the authenticator.xml (thought it only loaded the .db from java).
tyvm for the tip!much easier
awesome work again. i use this everyday since i found it
i dont see how that would affect it. that change only makes it so u cant use 1 code for many battle.net accounts. so if anything this program makes it easier if u have many Battle.net accounts because u can get/load different codes for each 1 =)

No, it doesn't affect software authenticators. Also, the change isn't retrospective, it only affects new authenticators added to accounts.
And really, if you need to use more than one Authenticator for your accounts, then that's where WinAuth helps
I am going to be adding some features to make it easier to switch between different authenticators in the application. I hadn't up till now, purely because you would have used the same one on different accounts. But as above, that's changed.
BTW, I have just released 1.2.1041 that you can set to "start with Windows" and use a System/Notify Tray icon, so you can keep it running and forget about it.
winauth - Project Hosting on Google Code
i just wanted to comment that it is working beautifully! I haven't had to even worry or open anything for the past 3 days even with being on laptop shutting down/starting up all the time. My macro just automatically logins me in with no hassle XD
Tyvm for the quick response and addition. I'm loving it =) great work.
