The program uses a speech synthesizer to read out chat messages i.e.
"Whisper message from <playername>. Hello World" or
"General message from <playername>. Hello world"

It can now also read out the quest description for the selected quest in your logbook.

This program requires that you run it as administrator!

General:
Thanks to everyone who has tried this out and left suggestion/feedback. Both are still welcome.
Regarding additional voices. Vista and XP only come installed with one voice each.
On XP it's Microsoft Sam and on Vista is Microsoft Anne.

Cepstral offer a never ending free trial of their voice engines.
The only difference between the trial and the retail is that the trial
will ask you to register every now and again.

The program needs updating to support the current patch. I have the update I just need to upload it. Check back in a few hours.

How do you mean? You can toggle Guild messages from players in a number of ways.

Say Messages from All Players
Say Messages from All Players Excluding those in the drop down menu
Say Messages from Only Players named in the drop down menu.

If you decide that you no longer wish to include a specific player in your filter. Select that players name in the drop down box and then hit the minus button.

Is that how you mean?

Also, just a note on what I'm currently working on.
I'm moving away from using a windows frame and i'm intergrating this addon directly into wow using a lua addon.

Basicaly I'm adding an options pane that does all that the current windows form does and I'm also adding a 'play' button to all gossip windows (it'll be small like this [ > ]).

It will allow you to read out what ever NPC's have to say.

Awesome tool. Very usefule. +Rep from my side.

The only feature which i would like to see implemented is that the chat log stores each new message in a new line. Is it possible to fix that soon?

One other bug which i figured out is, that the tool does not rtepeat the same whisper although it was send twice witha break between both whispers.

Hey Gordon, the system doesn't repeat any message that has been sent in the last 60 messages. It stops the program going mad and reading out "WTB ANAL DURGE" or whatever the latest /trade channel craze is.

I will look into adding an option to allow repeated chat message from specific players (and/or all players if you like).

The chat log shouldn't take a min to sort out, i'll look at that tomorrow.

it would be also fine for me if you would make sure that all message will be logged. Even if it is a repeated message and then store it to the chatlog file.

What's the status of this project? Are there install/operation instructions? I start the exe but I can't get it to work with my WoW on Windows 7. I have a child with a reading disability that would love to play WoW but can't bear to take 30 minutes to read quest text. Please help!
