The install instructions are incredibly simple, but I made an explicit list I'll post on my Download page and here.
- Download and install one of the Menu Extra enablers. This is important as WoWMenu cannot put itself in the menu bar without one of these.
- Download WoWMenu and unzip it (you should then see a file called "WoWMenu.menu" on your Desktop or wherever you download to)
- Put the "WoWMenu.menu" file wherever you want. The Applications or ~/Library/Bundles folders work as well as any place.
- Doubleclick WoWMenu.menu and it will appear in your menubar.
- Enjoy!
I found the problem; working on a fix right now. Gimme 30 minutes.
Okay, the problem should be fixed -- it had to do with loading preferences the first time. Anyway, to fix your version here's the steps:
1) Log out of your computer and log back in (or just restart). The reason for this is that the menu bar tries to "hang on" to the old version of WoWMenu, and we need to clear that out. Alternatively, if you are comfortable in the Terminal, type "killall SystemUIServer" and that will restart your menu bar.
2) Trash the old version of WoWMenu completely and empty the trash.
3) Download the latest version from the site and follow those install instructions.
If you are still having trouble after all of that, open up Console (in /Applications/Utilities) and tell me if there are any errors listed for "SystemUIServer" when you try and load WoWMenu.menu.
I've tested this with 4 machines now and it's working fine. The main issue is that the menu bar likes to hang on to the bad version, which is why the restart/killall is really important.

Open up Console.app and tell me what it says. It's in the Utilities folder. Console tells you about any errors that may have happened in an app (if you didn't know this already). Tell me if there are any entries listed by "SystemUIServer" (that's the menu bar app in OS X). The errors would be in "console.log".Originally Posted by Domminust
As I mentioned previously, old versions get "retained" by the menu bar if they were ever open at some point (ie, why does your volume control always show up there? Cause it gets opened every time your machine boots up). They need to be completely deleted/removed or the menu bar (which automatically re-opens anything that used to be there) will try to open them again.
This isn't rocket science. Either:
1) It's trying to open an old version (solution: delete it completely).
2) There's an error I'm not aware of, which will show up in the Console (solution: tell me what it says so I can fix it).
Errors look something like (though they might say anything) :2007-05-19 13:54:02.620 SystemUIServer[4687] failed to load Menu Extra: NSBundle <~/Projects/WoWMenu/build/Release/WoWMenu.menu>
thats the bottom part , but theres like.. alot more.. anyone else getting any error like this? or just meCode:Reports.bundle 2007-05-19 19:55:05.337 SystemUIServer[90] Normally WoWMenuExtra would not have been loaded as a Menu Extra. 2007-05-19 19:55:05.452 SystemUIServer[90] failed to load Menu Extra: NSBundle </Users/me/Desktop/WoWMenu.menu> (loaded)
