    [Mac] WoW Server Switcher

    Mac Server Switcher
    ********************************************************
    Usage:
Mac server switcher is intended to be a simple application that makes it very easy to switch between 10 user-defined WoW Emulator server realmlists plus the WoW US server realmlist and WoW EU server realmlist.
    ******************************************************************************** *****
    Features:
-10 User defined servers to switch between.
    -Simple and effective layout.
-Auto-Updates itself so you will always have the newest version.
    -Auto-Saves user preferences (servers).
    ******************************************************************************** *****
    Release Notes:
    -Version 1.0 Released
    ******************************************************************************** *****
    Known Bugs:
    -None.
    ******************************************************************************** *****
    Things to come:
-If enough people would like it, I am thinking about adding an auto-login feature.
    ******************************************************************************** *****
    How to use:
Mac Server Switcher is very self explanatory but if you are confused as to how it works and its functions please refer the the picture below.

    Saving Servers:

    1. Write the name of the server as you would like it to appear in the "Select Server" box (5).
    2. Write the realmlist exactly as you would like it to appear in your "Realmlist.wtf" file. Be sure to include the "set realmlist" part.
    3. Select a Slot which you would like to save the server information to.
    4. Use the "Save" button to save the server information to the selected slot.

    Playing Servers:
    5. Select the server name which you would like to play. If there are no servers listed make sure that you saved your server(s) correctly or see step 6.
    6. Use this button to refresh the server list.
    7. Press the play button to automatically write the selected servers realmlist to your "Realmlist.wtf" file. Mac Server Switcher will then automatically start World of Warcraft and close itself.

    Extras:
    8. Use this button to check for updated versons of Mac Server Switcher.
    9. Use this button if you need to reset the realmlist location.
    10. Use this button if you need to reset your WoW location.
    ******************************************************************************** *********
Let me know if there are any other functions that you think I should add!
    Constructive Criticism is Appreciated!

161 Views and only 3 comments? Some feedback would be appreciated -_-

P.S. - I'm working on the auto login feature. It should be ready for release soon.

Ok, Ive got a Zomg noob question, what exactly does this program and others like it do?
ie - does it allow me to take say x level toon on x live server and "transfer" it to another live realm and back again on log in / log out?

or is this more for private servers only?
again, sry but just not fully getting this and why somebody would want it.
    thanks in advance.

I have one thing I think you should add. You should put in an auto-cache deletion feature, which is almost always needed when swapping servers (It would be nice so people don't have to setup Automator to do it themselves, since not everyone knows about Automator).

Awesome man. I hate having to go into my WoW folder and keep switching things around depending on what server I want to play on. Very nice! !

I had the same problem at first, make sure you click refresh list before you start looking for the server you just added then you'll be all good.

In my opinion this wasn't very well built. This could've been better if he used a list instead of a menu drop down and didn't limit the amount of servers you could add, along with a bunch of other things.

A for effort but not an app that's worth the hassle for me to use. I might make a Cocoa based world switcher if I ever get back into WoW. (Since it's boooring)

Mac stuff is slim to none on these forums.. the least you could do would be to put out something a little higher grade.

    Thanks for your input

Actually, this was one of my first projects ever in any programming language so I think that since I was a newb at the time that it turned out pretty well.

I have been getting better at cocoa and I could write a server switcher in cocoa if I wanted to but sadly I don't really see the need for that since 1)There are not that many mac WoW players 2)Theres even less mac WoW players who play on private servers. So essentially this was just a practice project that I decided to release to the public.
