Using my password (10 digits long) thats 3,656,158,440,062,976 (36 to the power of 10) password attempts.

At 1 attempt a second (page refresh), it would take 115,936,023 years to break.

Hmm I used to do the same with porn sites, so wonder why I newer tought of this. its basicly the same thing. and to the army guy with 10 char long pass, its not about bruteforcing, its about using a wordlist. Which makes it so much quicker. Not to mention wow is played by kids who really don't use good passwords now do they. Think all that army stuff did your head in and you lost the grasp of reality with people's passwords.

bullshit this could work with proxys etc, but it would take around 3819 days to crack a password.

Brutus is a very oldscool tool to do such an attack to a website.
As alredy mentioned above there is a timeout at the most websites or BBS for trying another PW to fight brutforce attacks.

The IP of the request will be blacklistet after 3 tryes for a certain time an after to much tryes it will be blocked for even longer time.

What has to be done is to use a Proxy or better use many anonymous Proxies.

For that you need other tools to check the Proxies if they are Work and if they are realy anonymous.

A nice tool is Goldenye wich can handle http attacks via different Proxies it also can check proxies and can scramble wordlists etc.

Look at darknet.org.uk for it


It is not just that easy as written in the first post.

The key to a goot attack is the wordlist. Just to take a list like postet is bullshit.
make your own list. Try to think like a User. Make a list for the Username and another list for the Password.
I would make a list of WOW Charnames and as Passwords this Charnames varied with Numbers and letters.

Look.. if now everyone takes the same wordlist. The accounts fill be found and are gone to the last user of the list.
