I do not take credit for this guide. This was made by MightyTank from a different forum. But i figure that since there's are new OB users that come here. That this might help them keep updated with the new SVN updates for OB.
How to use SVN repository!
Ok, so this is my attempt at a "sort of" guide to getting SVN to work. If you dont know what SVN is, look it up. Basically a SVN repository is a folder set up to be shared to people who have the address, and is updated as the files change. So for instance the OB dev SVN, it is the developers version of OB that that has updated files and fixes.
How do i get SVN to work for me?!
Well you're going to need a windows SVN program, i personally use tortoise (tortoisesvn.tigris.org)
It is easy to set up, so im not going to go over it, just post questions if you have them.
The Obenbot Dev SVN:
http://www.ob-dev.com/svn/openbot/
Zomg, it doesnt automatically work, what do i do next!?!
1. Create a folder on your computer (i use my desktop b/c im not that organized).. name it whatever you want (mine is SVN OB)
2. right click the folder and click the svn checkout button
3. type in the address click save, and go!
this should download all the files from the ob dev svn to your comp in that folder.
ZOMG THERE ARE SOOO MAN FOLDERS!!! WHAT DO THEY MEAN!?!
well there are only 3 folders, so calm the **** down...
"1. SAFE = 2.6 with a few bugs fixed that were causing alot of problems.
2. HEAD = Unoptimized dev version (Old. If you have problems with the new version, you can use this one.)
3,Optimized is the current branch that all dev's are working on. The bot is generally faster overall, and the click to move is in this folder only. (Very few bugs left in this branch.)"
Now all thats left is to copy these folders to your openbot directory!
( you might want to also copy config / maps folder so that you have the maps and hotspots )
So hopefully this helped at least one person.. if it i didn't help you, or you don't give a damn, then go burn in a fire![]()
P.S. Don't forget to copy your routines if you use custom ones!!
