I think Microsoft announced everything they needed to. I honestly believe they wanted to announce all of the controversial items now to get any and all feedback so that they can adjust these items. I do believe that they will change many of the items that have caused much of the negative feedback.

Personally, I am fine with the sorta retro look of the X1 that will fit nicely with my other home theater components. I'm also fine with the Kinect intergration, always on functions, TV navigation, and am interested in the NFL agreement.

However, what the X1 announcement did miss the boat on was a jaw dropping game demonstration that we would be truly amazed at. That didn't happen at all. Now maybe at E3 they show us that sorta thing, but they really needed to show at least 1 thing that would blow us away. If they had, then the feedback would be a lot different right now.

I agree with Onesimus, let the consumer know what they will get while working on negative feedback to fit consumer interest. Xbox 360 vs PS3 everyone with a logical mind knows which console is a clear win but Microsoft undercut the price of their console to attract a certain audience, which will happen again, PS4 is a clear win but the consumer will have to pay that bit more extra.

Xbox 360 owner myself i couldn't care less which console i buy next, I will wait until friends and family purchase theirs before deciding.

Edit: i've had Gold membership for 5 years, i might just get the PS4 and save myself over £300 for the next 5 years lol.
Edit: And purchase the PS4 on a 5 year contract. lol.

In my opinion this whole thing it just stupid. I don't know what all the hate is for the system, as far as I can tell the xbox is just as capable at gaming as the play station yet it has MORE features... Why something that is essentially the same thing with more features gets trash talked is beyond me.
