Why say the Release date is confirmed on the day of the release?

1) When I posted this it wasn't the day of release
2) Extended.. Extended.. Extended.. does this sound familiar?
3) I couldn't see this on the first page - it's a huge thing though, huh?
4) There are guys (like emulation experts with their 2.4.3 servers) who are not aware of the patch coming live.
