I love playing the game with music on, I have high def speakers, and I put sound quality at max and enable reverb, it just makes the game so much better.
World of Warcraft is not the same game without sound.
Yes definitively the music in at least WotLK was an experience. But both vanilla and TBC did not impress on that part, I do hope they remake the current scores for the zones in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor with Cataclysm, as many of them are pretty worn out and doesn't fit any longer.
I don't know how anyone can play withOUT the music! There are a few areas where the music get annoying because of it's repetitiveness, but that's why I have the EMP addon
I haven't experienced all the outland/northrend music yet, but of the old areas my favorite is still the teldrassil & I believe it's Darkshore background musics. It just has this "ethereal" feeling to it. For full blown songs? Gotta say Lament of the Highborne![]()

How in the world can people play games without music on? music makes games 100x better, especially medieval themed games like wow.
I played Classic, TBC and WotLK with Music on. Classic basicly because i had no idea about how to turn it of, because i have to go with Andrige. The Music in TBC and Classic wasnt really my taste. There are exceptions though. I enjoyed a few parts of the Naxxramas-tracks and even a bit of the Barrens-Music and alot from Black Temple and Sunwell. In Wrath the music was really good in most places. Ulduar was just awsome with most of its music and Icecrown too. Im sure we all remember the music from the Fall of the Lich-King-Trailer and also from the outro after Defeating him...
Its hard to make a favorite though.
"Secrets long forgotten" remind me strongly of Uldaman for some reason and really fit to the name of the Ulduar-Patch.
"Halls of Iron" is also from Ulduar and seems to reflect the legends hidden in it. The glory of the Titans you can see in this huge golden building.
Then there are this "Tourney Battle"-Parts in the Game-files from TotC. I liked the Soundtrack, even if the dungeon was so boring. It fits.
Icecrown definatly holds "Invincible" as the big final line under the Arthas/Lich-King-Ark of Warcraft. It strongly resembles the music from the final cutscene of Frozen Throne, the Intro of WotLK and is changed perfectly to show that this long story ends there, which is the main reason for beeing my favorite.
What i heard so far from the Music of cataclysm sounds great too. I look forward to the full Gillneas-part.
Call to Arms from either Warcraft 3 and Wotlk is definately my #1 favorite.
