I seriously hope for a sandbox game in the spirit of Elite (1984 video game). EVE Online is the only solid Elite type MMO right now and I have no doubt that Blizzard could trump it, with a better UI, addon support, more interesting quests, more accessible for beginners ... It wouldn't have to be in space but I'm sure a lot of people would pay for a sandbox MMO that doesn't suck and isn't EVE.

Can I just take my drink now instead of waiting for word that you're wrong? Lets's see here...

Blizzard announced that it's outside of any universe they've been working on. Well obviously they're not blatantly lying to us, so obviously it's not Starcraft-based.

Starcraft 2 map editor had so much money poured into it because Blizzard cares about *quality*, Starcraft 2 wasn't going to be some half-assed game to make more money, they made it to be one of those defining games of the time.

Blizzard couldn't just use the editor for an mmo. The entire mechanic of the map system is great for making playable maps and all, but is a horrible system to use for an MMO, hence why they have a completely different system that works completely differently.

Yes, they made a poll for people to see what planet people might be from in the universe. This isn't "gauging people's interest", it's called "marketing". Hyping up people's interest in a game, and constantly keeping a community for these people playing this game is a good way to have a good customer base. I mean, look at how Bungie interacts with their community, that doesn't just instantly hint they're coming out with something BIG by looking at people's "interest" in their game.

Blizzard will be making it to compete with the new "The Old Republic" MMO? What company would seriously make a game for the sole purpose of competing with another game that shares he same genre? That makes absolutely no sense, as it would just be a low blow, and Blizzard defiantly doesn't play like that.

Finally, Blizzard said they aren't making a Starcraft MMO, i mean seriously, are you that blunt to think they would lie to you? That would be counter-productive in the first place. Imagine how much hype they could stir up by keeping "starcraft" and "mmo" together, they would have tens of millions of people that would instantly buy the game years before it comes out.
