Ban Wave Is Coming!
Niantic Labs’ hammering down on third-party tracking apps seems to be the first wave of ensuring fair play and efficient server use. It seems that the developer’s guidelines for cheating are in firmly in place.
Twitch has just issued a new statement that addresses the growing concerned for instances of cheating in Pokémon Go. There have been many tips and workarounds ever since the game was released.
“As of August 8th, anyone sharing content that features or promotes cheating in Pokémon GO will receive a strike on their account. We ask that broadcasters take appropriate steps to ensure that their content is not at risk.”
This statement follows the many Twitch broadcasters who have allegedly stared streaming cheating tips for Pokémon Go.
I’ve seen a couple of cheaters as well. Even though Pokémon Go was just released last weekend in several Asian countries, it’s not uncommon to see Gyms occupied by not only evolved Pokémon, but those with CP in the thousands.
Some of the cheats involve tinkering with the GPS and using bot software—both of which are violations to Niantic Labs’ guidelines. So if you’re a Twitch broadcaster or just basically a player of Pokémon Go, make sure to steer clear from using these cheats.
Pokémon Go still has to launch in a few countries including China, Korea, and India. For the rest of us, let’s play safe, play fair, and wait Niantic’s ban-wave to arrive.
Be Careful everyone!

I don't cheat, but saying something like this in a "trick" and "bot" forum sounds fun.
Accept it.

The only "clue" about banwave comming is the fact that they fixed API and limited amount of logged bots per IP. Both of these things are probably ONLY for support their shitty servers.
They might fight with botters because they literally rapes niantic servers. But I doubt they will permban accs...

You could look at the Ingress banwave as a precedent:
