Hey guys! I was around back when PoGo and botting it were new and left when it seemed to have died off to massive ban waves. I recently decided to try it again and see whats going on with the community. I have some questions!

Firstly, what bots are even actually up and running these days? I cant tell considering most bots have dates on their posts from months back >.> just a quick list of the most popular I guess?

Next, it seems theres no such thing as a free bot anymore? This is completely different than before, they used to all be free. It also seems every bot is run off the same paid service from bossland or something? Would someone be kind enough to explain a rough rundown of how this works, I assume I download w.e bot I want, go to whatever site belongs to bossland and pay for a months access there, use w.e key Im given there for any bot I download and Im good to go?

Lastly, I really just wanted to know about sniping and that scene. Before it was as easy as running your bot and some kind of secondary program that people reported where mons were and the bot auto sniped based off that info. Do bots still snipe/is sniping a thing that works now? Im mostly ONLY interested in sniping, not so much a bot walking around for me hitting stops/gyms. I can do that, I just want to snipe things I dont have / rares all over. Is there a way to do just this without buying access to a bot or something? Sniping was always fun. I actually still have one of the older original free bots and it still runs fine, idk what ban possibilities are tho.

Sorry if these are dumb questions, been a while since I been around the, and this sites new to me altogether! Appreciate any feedback.

As of 0.53, all bots technically work. They've allowed invalid hashes / signatures to get valid responses. If you want a bot that runs on the newest API (0.55), they'd need to support bossland's hashing server.

PokeFarmer - Made by the RE devs that also have the hashing server.
PokeBot.Ninja - Java
Hackemon - Java
GoManager (mine)
NecroBot2

Other than PF, I think they all have some form of free version. "Free" being that it costs nothing to use the program. If you want to use the newest API, then you'd need a hashing key. If you don't want the newest API, some of them support the older hashing method.

When a new API is released, there's a few things that needs to be changed.
1) uk25 (easy to get)
2) Hashing algorithm / seeds (requires reverse engineering)
3) Rarely the signature

Bossland is the only group that has managed to reverse any of the APIs after 0.45. Instead of releasing it for free, they released a hashing server to get paid for the work they do.
A 150 RPM key should be enough for 4 account minimum. Depending on how you setup your config / bot you use, it's possible to get about 15 max (more, if you reduce exp/hr).

Sniping is roughly the same with how it works. There's now a speedcap, so it may take an extra 20+ seconds for the pokemon to appear though. Best way would be to manually snipe every couple minutes. If you use my program (GoManager), there's an auto sniper plugin. Auto sniping is only for paid users, but you can use it to manually snipe. It pulls pokemon from multiple sources (possible to get 100k+).


With all that said, don't bot on any account you don't want to lose. There was a banwave recently that hit everyone.

also if we manage to avoid getting soft banned with the bots does the account still get banned in future?

Youll know if youre banned or not. It wont let you log in. And as per how fast you get banned, depends on how obvious you are. If youre unhumanly fast and botting for 27 days straight, plan on being banned lol

Depends on the bot. Mine will say "PermAccountBan." Some don't check for it. No one really knows the criteria for being banned. All we know is this

Flagged = Captchas
Old API = Flagged
Flagged Domain = Flagged
Flagged = Ban only on some waves. Other times they rarely get banned. Assume you'll get banned once they're on the newest API.

Ban waves don't last long enough to find the cause.
