Does anybody have a pokemon that doesn't have a capture location info? Is it just a slow internet connection/server sided issue? I just wanna know if it's possible to initiate a glitch to make this happen. For sniping purposes. Please respect.

Use Blossom's Pokemon go manager, you will find "Over_Query_Limit" specified in the capture location column of pokemon without Caught City.
It could due to Google Map API error made by too many request.
Encounter location was always recorded. Early version of game even showed a map of where the Pokemon was encountered (note encountered, not captured). This display was removed as it caused too great a drain on Niantic servers.
The display was reintroduced in version 0.39 (or was it 0.37) and it was just a line for location.
For those who snipe, it records the place where you encounter the pokemon. Not the place where you teleport back to to throw the pokeball. This make it a dead giveaway that you were sniping if you have pokemons from too many places that you cannot physically get to.
Not sure if (but suspect it will be true) you transfer these pokemons and just keep the candies, you actually wipe the capture location from Niantic servers. No reason for Niantic to keep location for pokemons that you no longer have in your collection, is there?
