Are bans based on your IP?

Hello , I was wondering if bans are based on IP. I have lvl30 normal account, but want to create another one with the use of a BOT. If Niantic detect my bot account, are they going able to trace my main account to me in any way, even tho I havent botted from it and will it be banned?

I've ran a lot of accounts from the same IP's, mixed with botted accounts and legit accounts. Never had any of the accounts I didn't bot on banned (so far)

Nice. I am asking, because a strange thing happened to me. Before the first ban wave I was running 6 bots along with my main. A friend did the same. After the first ban wave all accounts got perma banned including my main and his accounts. Yesterday I log in randomly into PoGo and my main (only) is working just fine without any ban,I have no idea what is the reason behind the unban, I never issued a ticket to the support. Now I want to keep this account clean and just make another one via BOT. I was wondering if its safe for my main if I dont bot on it (since its lvl30, I dont need).

Then you are lucky and a living confirmation that the IP Address does not affect other accounts that played legit to which other bot account have utilized in the same network.

True. Apparently, they have to be lenient for now since their number of players are slowly declining despite of the fame.
