I've found this on youtube, i haven't tested any methods (i'm already member of the purple team) i'm just sharing it with you maybe you'll find something interesting.
The FlyGPS method still works but be sure that you're using a VPN and use it wisely, i can't guarantee that's safe and that you won't be banned but that always safer than a bot.
I think you can still be banned even if he says that the rooted method is safer because that hide totally your location and your IP, i think that's safer than using a bot if somone want to try...

You don't need a modded apk with flygps, but yeah I'm pretty sure that they can flag you if you use a modded one.
