Optimal Strategy for Retrieving Some Banned Accounts (Conceptual Discussion Only)
There have been rumors circulating on the web that legitimate players have been getting banned due to groups of other players reporting them. Niantic obviously doesn't have the staff resources to manually check these accusations. If this is true, a possible community strategy could be to use created accounts to report innocent players. The political backlash could force Niantic to make the ban appeal system instantaneous. My buddy and I have created a legit account and will continuously report it from multiple accounts until it gets banned. Will report if I get any data.
This thread isn't meant to encourage any immoral behavior. But is instead intended to explore the philosophical and technological aspects of implementing such a plan. This is purely abstract thinking.

my account was banned, lv 38 and have alot of gyms (im used bot)
my friends account is save, no ban yet... lv 36 and he's not have any single gym till now (he used bot to lv up till now)
maybe alot of people's report my account, because i have alot of gyms and become gym leader in all of my gyms
and maybe they say like this "WHAT THE **** LV 38 AND GOT ALOT OF 100 IV DRAGONITE I CAN'T BEAT HIM, ILL REPORT TO NIANTIC"

I doubt that. Go in the game ans show me a Report Player option? I don't recall that being an option

Report player exists. Go to report issue or whatever it is and an option you can select is problem player and the choose cheating.

Pretty sure ban is not based on reports. Of my 9 banned accounts, only 2 of them took on gyms. The other 7 are just botted as spare accounts and havent even fought in any gyms yet, thus they are not reported by anyone.

i have similar idea, mine was to appeal ban on all of the banned account, like the op suggested, niantic will not have the staff and resource to check 'em all, so some will slip trough and ban free some other whose not so lucky still banned, but, we have nothing to lose right? also, it will put some pressure on niantic from real player who doesn't cheat so (i hope) that they loosen their ban policy.

I think anyone using the ban appeal process is crazy.
Look, if you are drunk and get pulled over, the last thing on earth you want to do is blow into the machine.
Refuse it and you have a chance to beat the DUI in court ( I know you lose your license for 6 months, but it is far better than a DUI conviction)
Using the ban appeal page is the same thing. Niantic has not yet formally confirmed they are banning people. Only cheaters assume they are banned and go to the appeal ban page.
To the average Joe walking down the street who has no idea what botting is, do you think if he is impacted by the login error, he is going to assume he is banned and "appeal the ban"?
Or is he going to contact customer service via normal means?
Before i appeal a ban, I want to actually have them tell me I am banned. Right now, I am getting a message about failure to get data from server error. I have no idea why.
I have opened a ticket via their normal means and am waiting to hear back on it.

That's the worst advice ever. It explicitly states it in the law that if you refuse a field DUI test, your punishment will be higher. It's not like the cop will say: "oh you refuse to take this breathalyzer? Ok youre free to go".
Each State has different law, but generally speaking, refusing a DUI test is probable cause for the officer to arrest you. The minimum jail time for refusing a test is much higher than failing the test. Most states have a "no-refusal", where if you refuse to take a DUI test they can get a very quick warrant that allows them to forcibly withdraw blood from you. If that happens and you fail the blood test, then your punishment will be many times higher than if you were to just fail the original DUI test.

Well, this is completely irrelevant to pokemon but here in FL it's not unheard of to refuse it and hire a lawyer and get it knocked down to a reckless driving. Also, the time it takes getting a warrant in the middle of the night and getting to a medical professional can potentially be long enough to get one under the legal limit. You really are better off refusing to blow. IMO it's a violation of human rights to force a medical procedure such as taking blood. Implied consent for a medical procedure should be reserved for healthcare professionals in order to preserve life or prevent harm.
