As the developer, I can assure you, this is not a spy program of Niantic.
Doesn't that sound like something a corporate intelligence officer would say?
No, really, it is just a bot. I forked it from Spegeli two months ago and totally reworked it.
Why am I doing this?
I do this because I enjoy AI and human behavior. Writing this bot is fun and challenging. Simple. I don't even play pokemon go.
How are we getting around the hard bans?
We really are not "getting around" any ban. It is difficult to determine how the hard bans are operating, because they only happen on the server-side, which there is no decompiled code for (unlike the client). Simply put, they are going to statistically look for patterns of behavior unlike a "natural" client. What I have been focusing on is minimizing calls, humanizing actions, and randomizing delays and intermissions. Granted, PokeRoadie may not harvest as much XP in a given amount of time, but I am prioritizing simulating natural behavior, not maximizing gains. Everything we are currently working on is focused around this approach.
Safety first:
So far, the bot has proven to be pretty safe, given the right config. Not to say Niantic will stop making attempts and revisions to detect it. It is an ongoing battle. Get separate emails for your bot accounts. You should not use the FlyLikeCaptKirk option, and I would keep my delay times set at 1500-5000. Additionally, do not change locations by great distances instantly. Keep in mind, going on your phone will ping your real location, don't be botting in England, then hop on your phone in Jersey. Finally, keep your speed reasonable. Even settings it higher than 45 can trigger softbans, and my guees would be too many softbans can trigger a hard one.
What the future holds?
Enjoy it while you can. Niantic is being legally aggressive to bot developers. Several major bots have already had to shut down because of legal action. As a technologist, I understand, it is not unfounded. So, this thing may not last forever.

as the developer, how do you intend to deal with Niantic banning based on device info and device sensor info? all of the other prioritizing simulating natural behaviors won't mean a lot if they can just tell that you are not using a real device

I love this! Major thumbs up to Disdain for this! Been running this thing for about 27 hours now, stopping every so often.

I noticed this earlier. It seems my trainer is hitting the pokestops, but i'm not getting anything out of it but the 50xp. I mean I'm fine with just the xp, but just wondering if it's something I missed.

Again, major <3 to Disdain!

Your bag is full. It reports NEW items collected and cannot do so.

Is there a way to transfer pokemon that i want? i only see IV values :-(
Example: transfer all Rattatas under 400 CP.
Example: transfer all pidgeys under 500 CP
Now i have set to transfer all pokemon under 190 CP because i have a magikarp of 191 CP :-)
thanks!
