GF GPS spoofs 2 blocks away from where she works in Midtown Manhattan bannable?

All I've done against the ToS is
1) using third party trackers
2) sniping (only in the past 4-5 days)
3) gps spoofing (mostly for handling my gyms)

I legit leveled to 29 without any bots or anything, and that is considering I started 5 days late. I think accounts under 31 aren't gonna be hit for the level, but moreso maybe from the strange places they go.

lol if I get banned, I'll just leave the game. If my account gets banned, then every user here is getting banned. I've done less than 200 snipes, and only spoofed in my own city (pokemon go anywhere)

I have been botting for decades. The only time I was ever banned was in the days of Glider for WoW, and I was acting really stupid. I have botted EQ, GW2, Diablo 1-3, SWTOR, LOTRO, FFXIII, ESO, and several other MMOs. My first piece of advice is, if you are afraid to lose the account, then do not bot it anymore because we have not seen Niantic's criteria for banning. My second piece of advice is, if you are going to spoof, then do not act and look like all of the other cheaters. If she is spoofing in a popular location where 10,000 other people are spoofing then she is asking for trouble. My final comment is, I doubt that Niantic can prove she was spoofing 4 blocks away if she only did it one time.

I've been saying this forever. Niantic is not going to ban people that spend money and occasionally spoof within their county and/or state. Start taking over gyms (by being obvious and stupid) and botting 24/7 (unrealistic starters) including reaching player levels that are impossible will equal an autoban. Everyone else will be fine.

If you spoof to say...Central Park, or the big areas in Sydney, San Fran, Santa Monica Pier, etc. The "go to" areas, you are probably going to get flagged and reviewed, then it will be all about your accounts activities and how legit they appear or how much the smell of bot.

Unless you live near those locations. It really depends on your physical location even though this is a mobile game. I'm worried for people that travel for work and catch pokemon worldwide. How would Niantic know the difference?

Is it bannable? Yes. If you are cheating, you are risking your account.

For argument's sake, you're more flattering the question of whether or not you'll be caught. You could be flagged for baby-spoofing two blocks away in a densely populated area, you might not. Like what other users have posted, we don't know 100% how Niantic's detection system works. It's probably better than spoofing halfway across the world, but try not to take too much solace in that.

At the very bottom line, cheating is cheating. Don't cheat unless you're prepared to lose your account.

Personally... I spoof my location all the time. Though, I always remain in the same home city and I spoof it between play - as in say I haven't played for 1-2 hours, I can/will spoof to downtown (which is 7km away from my house). Maximum that I've gotten was soft bans if I spoof mid-game...

Like there's no way to tell that in those 1-2 hours that I wasn't playing that I didn't go downtown myself...

Likewise, though haven't tried it, nor really care to, I think it would be possible to not play for 1-2 days and then spoof to somewhere in Europe or somewhere else... The only way to detect that for them is to check your location and your IP/ISP. For instance if you're spoofing to China, yet your IP shows that you're in Canada on a Rogers (ISP) network... But, maybe you're using a VPN?

I'm not sure how "smart" they are at detecting spoofing/teleportation, but you can base things off of time and distance traveled... Like an average person walks 5 km/h, so for me to appear in downtown after 1-2 hours, is totally feasible. Average car speed is supposedly ~50km/h (depends on where you are...), so in those 1-2 hours I could apear 50-100km away from my last place. But for me to appear in Hong Kong after not playing for 1-2 hours... would mean I traveled 12,401 km, at the speed of 6200km/h - 12400km/h and would require me to pilot a Mach 10 (Mach 1.5 is apparently $120 million) to cover that distance.

I had a buddy log into my account from China ;D . (But again, why is his IP in Canada on a Canadian ISP).

Other craftier methods involve looking not only the ISP but also the device connecting. So If you were walking around with a Samsung... And all the sudden you're 50km away on an HTC and now traveling at a constant 200km/h ... seems kind of odd, wouldn't you say?

I've posted this else where, based on them taking legal actions against Mila432, logically they would try to go after all the open source projects first and shut those down, before starting to ban on individual basis. They would not only lose less players (potentially cash shop buyers) but also greatly diminish botting and other fun things.

BUT

Always be prepared to pay the full price of cheating/doing something against the rules. Whatever it is you have to gain better be worth that price.
