It's too bad, but bot time might be over for good...
It's not that they are doing anything different. The game is just not as popular and Devs are not working on it so long as scanners are up. When Niantic pushes out Gen 2 pokémon there servers are prob going to crash because of how much they have dedicated to encryption. At this point right now Niantic has same level of encryption as a bank does and banks don't deal with major server loads.

We'll see about that later. I'm not really sure it would be that bad.

While this is total opinion with no facts it seems they updated server response in the last update. How idk but it's probably in prep for gen 2. Even so there code is still very clunky because of the amount of obfuscation. Unless they kill gen 1 pokémon there code which is already having trouble will have to calculate double the data. It will be interesting to see what happens and it could be a epic failure if they don't somehow speed the process up.

I'm just a casual player who learns after all the hype that pogo fails, not like COC. I don't really understand programming. But it is interesting to learn updates from people like you who knows better than me. So, yeah, lets see later after the update. I still log in sometimes to my pogo account.

What I have learned from Niantic its this. They will work twice as hard to stop cheating as they will on improving there code for overall gameplay. Its why your a casual player because there has not even been a true worthy update. Hopefully they will see there mistake but with a former Google brass working for them I really doubt it.

Released V65!!
Mainly maintenance release.
Generation 2 pokemons support, also solves crashing issues if you have caught or hatched Gen 2 pokemons.
Still using the OLD API though...

Yeah, if you check their forums you'll see people were still botting with old API and getting lots of captchas. There was a recent banwave during the latest update and a lot of them got banned.
I'll be waiting for the new API.

It's been cracked by the devs of Pokefarmer with the help of PoGo Dev. But as they said, they will not share it as of this time.

Released V67!!
NEW API support 0.51!! Only catch is that Bossland API hashing service is now needed for every bot user which costs at least 3.95 EUR per month.
Upside is that due to the hashing being paid service, in the future bot downtimes after Pokemon App updates should be minimal.
More description and license purchase links can be seen at: Purchase API hashing service licenses
The API hashing license is separate from existing donator levels, unlocking Gym and Sniping works just as before.
For adjustment period, the old 0.45 API can be selected in the login form.
Additional changes:
Ditto auto-sniping works correctly now.
Auto-sniping window now allows to select multiple target pokemons and the selection is saved into configuration file.
Auto-sniping ignores soon-to-expire pokemons.
Increased allowed delay for sniping.
Increased size of captcha window.
