Logging in with google account back up. Now shows no pokestops nearby though I am standing right on top of one. Theory is API changes.

I think it got patched. Now when you get softbanned, it doesn't show pokestops nor pokemons. Just empty area only.

This happened to me back when I was trying to figure out how to spoof location on my own. Currently used Xposed + Mock Mock Locations + Hide Mock Locations on android device. But that is what would happen when it would pop the error "cannot detect location." Just wouldn't show anything.

I was soft banned about an hour ago however and it was the usual can't collect from pokestops and all pokemon run away. I was still able to manually unban myself by spinning a pokestop 38 times.

How? This is a bot like anything else, it just has one specific function, to automate the spinning of the closest pokestop 50 some times. That is all it does and it does so by communicating with the game server using API calls. It's my understanding that the server is now implementing a verification system to determine if the API calls came from the PokemonGo APK or not. Once they figure out how to spoof this verification, bot creators can then implement it and bots will work as before.

You can unban yourself manually if you open poke stop and spining for 40+ times should unban you. But then again i dunno if it works on new update

It starts but then it says unbanning finished, there are no pokestops here!

It still works. You need to open a pokestop, spin it once, close it, spin it again and repeat the process. Try doing it with 1 specific pokestop, this is what I am doing and it works everytime.
