Yes it will likely cause bans just like all the rest of the API tools. Anyone using this who doesn't think that a ban is coming eventually is stupid and ignorant.

Yes, developers. If you think that they didn't realize people would attempt to use it for automation, you are a fool. This isn't their first game, despite how bad they are doing, and they've done similar in ingress.
