Ownedcore scam link: He Contacted me regarding selling me his GW2 Account



Explain what happened:

He was selling his Gw2 Account, I purchased it with a WOW time card and a day later he removed me from Skype and account is suspended.

I have tried re adding him to Skype, emailing both email addresses, also pm'd here no luck. He has been on this site since 2010 I figured he could be trusted.

I hope this gets his attention to re add me to solve this issue if not then warn others.

Well update.

Still nothing back from the seller.

Got a final email from gw2 lost the account.

We can change the potential scammer to full on scammer.

OC doesn't do much about them, i've been falsely accused by some guy who was impatient and wouldn't take the time to log on my server

Although I disagree, I believe owndcore staff do care. Scammers are everywhere, I am also on epic.

There are many things I like about this site. One being this page to write and warn others, the fact that as soon as I posted this thread. I googled favor98 and first thing popped up was my thread. Great for others when they investigate people online before trading.

The scammers here are banned and any other account they have or make is also banned.

Although I posted this 19hrs ago so hopefully something is done.

the system they have in place only goes based off if a person even reports it
they should take up the system like epic*npc, where they can track proxies and previous banned ips and ban them again

I agree they are concerned somewhat, but something better could be in place of that

They do activly ban people due to their IP. They have a huge database containing IP adresses with other information about the scammmers. They have nothing automated tho which I personally think is good.

It has now been 2 days since my post. The scammer has logged in 3 times to ownedcore.

No pm back, still blocked from Skype.

I sure hope he is not scamming anyone else from this site.

Meanwhile, can you upload some screenshots of the skype convo, and also one where his skype username is visible?

I have notified the member in question and he have 2 days to post his explanation in this thread.

1: Do not contact admins about trade related stuff. They have more than enough work already, and thats what us trade moderators are here for.
2: Do not spam trade threads with scammer accusations. Mightyteabag did the right thing by making this thread so trade moderators can look into this.
