Scammed

Ok so this guy wanted to buy a spectral tiger. But he wanted to talk on skype so I said ok. After we discussed the amount he decided to trade so I put the spectral tiger up in the trade window. I never accepted the trade but somehow it was completed I was like WTF??? I did a scan of my computer and found a file on it called spectiger.exe. I believe he used that to somehow complete the trade. I have no idea how!!! I sent in a ticket to blizz they said sorry. SO I just sent in another. Any advice? I told them I could send them the .exe to look into it.

Is there someway someone who is tech savy can look into this .exe and see what it does?

There is NO way you get a file on your hard drive from doing a trade in WOW.

As for your .exe file, you can run a virus check on it on https://www.virustotal.com

ya this is the oldest trick in the book and you just said what it did.

thats what the program does, hit accept on trade for you when other guy hits accept.

Ya I also posted the file on a programmers forum and they said it somehow remotely accepts the trade I have no idea how. How does it do it? Anyway blizzard doesnt believe me so I guess this guy just goes around scamming people.

Apparently you can through skype and I did run a scan and thats how I found the exe. The time the .exe was on my computer is the exact same time I added him on skype.

Skype does not auto accept and run executables either. What probably happened is:

1: You talked to the scammer on Skype
2: Scammer found your IP address
3: Scammer broke into your computer and installed/ran the spectraltiger file
4: You logged on wow and from there we all know the rest of the story.

Sadly thats what happened but I dont think Blizzard realizes its possible to do those kind of things...so they dont believe me. Also his skype is SpankyTanky which I just found out is a huge time scammer. IDK what I can do so Blizzard believes me
