Did you use a middleman?: No, he made a fake skype and impersonated Pr3cious.

Explain what happened: He added me on skype and invited the fake Pr3cious in the group conversation, (it's my fault I forgot to check the legitimacy of the skype name), and then the whole thing just went according to plan. I ended up falling for the "I'm sorry, that card doesn't work, try a new one" bull. The full skype logs are in the proof section.
