Blizzard got Hacked!

What is happening?! what is going on?! Is it a global panic caused by the most sneaky and evil hacking attack ever?! Well... no... just an regular thing that happen all the time, but hey! This time its not just anyone who got hacked, yes - it was Blizzard. How did that happen, what was stolen and what were the hacker/s motives? Atm we can't answer all the questions, but what we know for sure is the list of things that got accessed during the attack:

• email addresses for global Battle.net users
• answers to the security questions
• information relating authenticators
• cryptographically scrambled b.net passwords
• possibly financial information (no evidence found so far)

does it means that your accounts are in danger and can possibly get hacked? YES, that's why you should change your password as fast as possible (and also consider changing passwords on your emails + other sites if they were similar to the b.net password). US only, for EU only emails are stolen according to Blizz.

The trespass into our internal network was detected by us on August 4, 2012.

DETECTED BY THEM. That doesn't me that's when the intrusion occurred necessarily. There has been a lot of account hacking going on suspect of compromise for a long ass time, but they've always denied it. Perhaps they just now figured it out...
