Logical Reasoning behind the reputation nerf

We noticed a lot of users were getting into the elite usergroup without as much hard work as earlier members of the site had to put in. With more members on the site, it was more easily attainable to get rep than with fewer members on the site as in the past. The goal of MMOwned has always been to get users to share their knowledge and the reputation nerf is just bringing back things to the level of difficulty as it was before.

55 reputation used to equal 1 rep power, it has since been changed to 150 reputation equals 1 rep power.
800 posts used to equal 1 rep power, but since posting doesnt mean anything, we have since changed it to 2,000 posts = 1 rep power.
However accounts 1 year and older be given 1 rep power for ever year they've been a member.
