    OwnedCore Report #16

Welcome OwnedCore to the 16th report. These last two weeks had a ton of cool gaming news and it seems this dry spell is finally coming to an end. Things you can look out for in this report are changes to our Trade Threads right here on OwnedCore, Warcraft 3 Invitational highlights, Diablo 3 coming to the switch?, and more.

    Website Changes to OwnedCore

Recently there have been some changes to the website including a new section being added for mobile sensation Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle. You can check out the new Buy, Sell, & Trade section by clicking right here! The game is free to play based on the DBZ Franchise with over 200 million downloads. That is bigger than Starbucks, Nickelodeon, and Airbnb combined!

    Trade Section Changes

We are always trying to keep OwnedCore safe from scammers and keep legitimacy a priority. With this in mind we have recently made a big change to the all the Trade Sections across OwnedCore. Starting now if you are using a VPN or Proxy to post in the Trade Section your thread will not be visible to the rest of the website until it undergoes Moderation Review. This should help clean out a lot of spammers, scammers, and corrupt threads.

    BUT

If you are an Active Member, Contributor, Donator, Elite, Legendary, or Elder rank you can still post with a VPN or Proxy and not have to go through a Moderation Review. So if your a Trade Section connoisseur you will want to get yourself ID Verified which is free if you buy CoreCoins or Donate to OwnedCore.

    Warcraft 3 is Back!

In the last report we talked about Blizzard flying out pros to the Blizzard Headquarters and what that could possibly mean for the franchise. Was it Warcraft 4, Remastered, or something completely different? The theories were running rampant and we found out shortly after that it was a huge patch called 1.29 but also a Warcraft 3 Invitational. This is the biggest patch for over 5 years for Warcraft 3 and the tournament was a great sign for things to come. At one point Warcraft 3 on Twitch had more viewers than WoW itself which was definitely a sight to see.

Features of Patch 1.29 can be seen here

    Some highlights include:
    • 24 Player Support

    Great for Custom Games

    • Widescreen Support

Balance Updates of Patch 1.29 can be seen here

    Some highlights include:
    • Goblin Alchemist Healing Spray no longer heals enemy units

A huge buff for the hero

    • Warden Blink Reduce CD from 10-7 Seconds at level 2 and Increase CD from 1-4 seconds at level 3

A buff for level 2 but huge nerf for level 3

If you want a Professional Perspective on these changes here's a video by Grubby explaining it all

    Invitational Highlights

The tournament was hosted on the Twitch channel Back2Warcraft and participants were packed with legends such as Grubby, Happy, EfFeCt, MaDFroG and more. It was casted by Neo and Remodemo. The event ran for two days, Feb 27 and 28, and was definitely a great display of the game itself. Back2Warcraft has been trying to keep Warcraft 3 alive for years now and it was nice to see them succeed in this invitational that nobody saw coming just 1 month ago. The peak viewership was around 22,000. There were even two interviews with Blizzard Officials which can be seen below. They explain things such as the widescreen option, patching strategies, and more.

    Future Speculation

    • Remastered Warcraft 3

This seems super likely because if you remember, they did a huge patch for Starcraft right before they remastered Brood War. So this whole "big patch after years of nothing" can be a huge arrow pointing to a remaster. Personally, I definitely see it being announced this Blizzcon 2018.

    • Unified Realm

This was not mentioned but Starcraft got this change right after it was remastered and like the above point, I think its likely that Warcraft 3 is going the same route as Starcraft right now. Right now it is very hard to get into FFA and 4v4 matches because there is not enough people on one given realm queuing up for it so this would be a huge fix to that issue and also legitimize the ladders across the board.

    Anime Review by Killen

Our intern Killen is back with another Anime Review. Last report he told us why we should be checking out Sword Art Online and this time around it is all about Classroom of the Elite.

    Classroom of the Elite

Koduo Ikusai is a senior high school, the perfect school for the best of the best. All students get places in classes from A to D and depending on these grades with the top classes they get great benefits. The lowest get little respect from all other classes. Kiyotaka Ayanokouji happens to score a seat in class D with all the dumbest students, there he meets Suzune Horikita a girl with no friends who believes she was misplaced by mistake and has a goal to climb the class ladder. Its also here we meet the seemingly amicable class idol Kikyou Kushida who aims to make friends with all the students in the school.

All students in the lowest rank classes can rise if they score better then those in the top classes. Also in class D there are no limits to on what methods that can be used to get an advantage in the tests. Will they be able to advance against all odds and make it to Class A? After all the difficult tests, all students go to an island where they’ll have to survive and earn points but its not so easy, all classes have a leader with a class card and the objective is to identify the other leaders while keeping your own low profile.

    My opinion
One of the big things about this anime is every conversation between the MC Kiyotaka to other people is highly overthought and all action he takes has a purpose. Unlike any other anime Classroom of the Elites characters designs coloring are unique and especially the eyes looks great. But its in general really enjoyable fun to watch.

Gaming News From Around The Globe

Blizzard put out a tease for Diablo 3 recently and everybody seems to be on the train of thought that this is a "Diablo 3 is Coming to the Nintendo Switch" teaser. Diablo 3 just had its 13th season come out recently but this tweet doesn't seem to be related to that at all. Blizzard has not released any games on a Nintendo platform since Starcraft on the N64 in 2000 which most people didn't know happened at all.

But recently Blizzard said "We can assure you we're not that clever." when asked by Polygon. The tweet was "meant to be a fun community engagement piece". At this point I believe them because I cant imagining them putting much more effort into Diablo 3. I understand it would just be a port but Blizzard is known for its polish and it would probably require a decent amount of effort to port it extremely well. Than again, the Diablo 3 console version is scuffed.

Do you guys think Blizzard is telling the truth?

The game that has taken the world by storm released its season 3 Battle Pass on February 22nd. This pass is jam packed with 100 tiers of skins, emotes, dances, v-bucks, and more. There are also some sweet themed skins like John Wick and a pickaxe skin including a pencil to go with it. For only $10 worth of V-bucks it is hard to not impulse buy this with how much stuff it gives you in return for playing what you're probably already addicted to playing. Also with this pass came weekly challenges on top of the already existing daily challenges. Each week the weekly challenges include things such as "SMG Damage inflicted" to "Find 7 Chests in Greasy Grove" and lets not forget "Follow the Treasure Map in Dusty Depot". These weekly challenges are meant to help you level your pass quicker because this season is a tad shorter than last, with it ending on April 30th. Besides helping you level, they are a great tool to make the game innovative and have a sense of progression. With how unique these quests are you actually land in places you might not have, use guns your not used to, and just do wonky things that you wouldn't ever think of all for the sake of leveling the Battle Pass. All in all it is a great idea by Epic Games and it is showing because I would say about 50% of the matches I join players are skinned with Battle Pass 3 skins.

    Are you guys playing Fortnite?

Also in Fortnite news, popular Twitch Streamer Ninja hit 100,000 subscribers on Twitch. This is by far the most subscribers on Twitch for a personal streamer. When he hit 40,000 Subscribers a couple weeks ago that was the first time a personal streamer ever hit that many according to him and to more than double that in less than a month to over 100,000 is just insane. He has had multiple 100k+ viewership streams and it doesn't seem like its slowing down anytime soon. Ninja is a former Halo Pro and H1Z1 Pro. It definitely seems like he picked the right game to main because after he picked it up he grew in viewership quite a bit but it was only until mid February that things started getting insane. I have to assume the Fortnite on console port was a huge part of this because that also seemed to be the point that Fortnite took over and everybody whose anybody was playing it.

Has a game ever become this popular this fast?
