After seeing the newest PvP vid from SWTOR and some of the feedback I've heard from some of the closed beta testers, it just might be able to pull it off. Or it could just be another WAR, but since Bioware are behind SWTOR, I very much doubt that![]()

World of Warcraft has such a large player base right now, and how many of the people are actually interested in restarting some MMO? There are going to be a LOT of top guilds who leave world of warcraft to play SWTOR, but the casual player base is going to probably stick to WoW because they already have pretty items on it and don't want to invest all those hours grinding and leveling again and try to get back to where they were on WoW.
The short answer? No. Just as others have said, WoW will likely end up killing itself but nothing will ever come close replacing it. SWTOR will probably be a close second, though reason would lead me to believe that it will share the same fate as all of the other "WoW Killers", there is simply too much nostalgia involved.
Not really, there are diff kind of ppl that play SWOTR and WoW. It has nice graphics tho, but Blizzard keeps WoW a lil' animated. Imo, WoW will rule the MMO branch for the next 3 years minimum

While Blizz had like 1 mil players in the first few months, I can observe that SWOTR only got 200k+ since it's release
Swtor definitely has the potential.
Its like Wow just better and more immersive, quests are not a chore, they are part of a plot.
I've played WoW since it's release and I recently got SWTOR. I much prefer SWTOR due to its intense missions that actually give you a choice rather than following the same chain as everyone else like in WoW. Also the gameplay is amazing, in both flashpoints (instances) and PvP. In a few patches time i think alot of people will transfer from WoW. Plus if you love star wars why have you not got SWTOR yet!????
Star Wars: The Old Republic hits a million players, 28 million hours played | Joystiq
Shows over a million day after release lol
i take it none of u have taken a look at guild wars 2 huh sad swtor is good ill give it that but when ur 39 and gettign ur ass kicked by a 37-38 strong it makes u cry
I am going to Troll, why even set this poll up?
Yes it will, TOR will have over billion subs and WoW will have only 1 guy playing it, the one with no life...
On more serious note, no it wont, but WoW is going to drop drastically within next 5 years.

Personally WoW Killed itself with transmog and upcoming pnadapocalypse. Also making everything situated around the "casual player" killed the game. Before hand SWToR was only going to be the other game, but it got the yes vote from me now.

The game already is destroying itself. It got a yes from me, i think Star Wars may bring something new to the table in some patch.
Don't think wow will be killed yet until we see MOP.
No, it won't. WoW is an awesome game like SWTOR, but both are completly different and I like to play both.
I feel that "No", ToR will not kill WoW. But at the same time I can not foresee vice versa happening either.
