    Make exploits/exploration section members only

Sadly, it comes more and more to my attention that people idiots think it's good to report exploits and stuff on more and more public forums(specifically MMO-champion and official WoW forums) for no good reason at all, other then ****ing us over. I think this problem can be maintained a bit more if we make part of the forums members-only, and with members I mean anyone with a registered account that is logged in. It would also encourage people to create an account, and maybe even contribute?

technically it already is; it is called elite-exploits and then the contrib/shared/elite/legendary lounges where some exploits go.

He means that it requires you to register, then you can view the regular exploit forums.

Which, is a good idea actually.

Well, not everything gets posted in elite exploits. Also, some exploits that get posted in elite later get poster in 'normal' exploits.

MMOwned has built it's base from free viewing, anything different would tarnish it. Those same people can just register and leech it anyways; Tis why the good exploits go into higher lounges so that atleast donated members(shared/elite exploits) or established members (contrib+) have longer to work with it.

the ones posted after moved; = people trying to grab rep for the exploit they saw and suddenly vanishes. It is up to the creator of the thread to post it up higher, so blame them.

Nothing against the idea, it just in all probability won't be done. This was suggested a lot. Who knows maybe it will be different this time around.

Not sure about that, if people really want exploits to use I'm almost sure they would sign up. Same could be said about the reporters/spreaders, but I think that won't be the case. Why register to a website so you can read stuff and then report it without getting anything out of it yourself?

Also, on a side note, it's not always the poster's fault, for example, a newbie just registered and posted an awesome exploit. He has no choice but to put it in the general exploits, because he can't post anywhere else. If we look at it that way, maybe it's possible the thread starter can mark his topic for member only? Although maybe that would require some programming with the forum or something, I don't know, not an expert at that.

In retort; they do it without signing up as it is, for no real gain other than fake brownie points with Blizzard.
An established member (no-names) posted an exploit in the regular channels and it was moved, newbie or established doesn't matter when it comes to that. It is up to the discretion of the OP on where to place it. No requirement should be enforced to make members view things as it stands for the topic, unless they want to.(IE: it is "epic" to be moved and verified it comes down to either the OP requesting it or staff requesting it because it could have some value to keep around a few extra days.

Also denote: "newbie members" can post in higher up sections, they just can't view other content beyond the thread they posted.

under elite & legendary description headers "[...] yes you can post here, but you can NOT see other peoples posts."

One way or another: The main reply from higher ups is, find the addon/mod for this version of VBulletin and post it, in this thread and they may look into it.

You used to have to but they removed the requirement to be registered so that the non-members could see that we aren't trying to trick them into registering

without non-registered viewing i would have not known what this site is about and would never have registered...
and i think google would not direct you to this site when you are looking for exploits if they arent shown to unregistered.

edit: you have to sign up to see links

It is the way it is for primarily 1 reason....
We get 75% of our member base and income from ads from GOOGLE

if the site (or any of its basic forums) was member only.. google wouldnt direct you here for exploits
exploits are 1 of the top things searched for on mmowned

    Not gonna happen sorry

you do however have to register to see links...
so if the exploit involves any pictures hosted elseware, or quests etc... they cant see it without registering
