No need, there is nothing bad with another report of the same thread as it further confirms the original report.

Alright, is that the answer for both options though?
No need for further reports if an infraction has already been given or if it's already been reviewed by a mod..

If it HAS been reviewed by a moderator, proper actions should already have been made (deleted post, closed thread, deleted thread, etc) and you should no longer need to report it. I understand your opinion though but I don't reckon it's needed at this very moment.

Let's say, hypotheticly, someone makes a suggestion and another user calls him a douche for it.
The threadstarter reports the post, a mods comes in but replies with a completely unrelated post.
Did he came in to review the insult but simply doesn't care? Or did he simply not notice the post? Or was an infraction given and he neglected to delete the post?

This leaves an open end, now; if people could at the least see that a post has been reviewed by a mod, they'd have closure.
If they could even see what the mods judgement was, that'd just further build upon that.

    tl;dr
Things right now are that you submit a report and it vanishes into nothing. You don't know what happened with it. You don't even know for sure it was sent properly.
Any change to this, would be an improvement - be it either of my suggestions, or another.

You used to be able to view who's taken care of your reports before mmowned v2 but it's not implemented right now and, to be honest, I'm not sure if it will be. There is no moderator with power in the suggestion section so you'll have to be patient.

So that's good then, this suggestion has some ground because it's simply a feature that didn't survive the transfer.
If admins saw a reason for it back then, I'm sure they will now.

The way it works is that i see "User x reported thread" then if another person reports the same thread then i will see it as a reply to the first topic "user y reported thread"

Topic title :: "User X reported thread"
Reply 1: User Y reported thread
reply 2: user z reported thread
reply 3: Sorted and dealt with by Ground Zero
    Thread closed.

So it is not really needed

About reports and being dealt with.. You can report a thread and it will be reviewed by a staff member, you don't need to know what actions have been taken and why or why not, since it is not really your business . Simply know that at this current time we have very few unhandled reports.

The thing with reports is that you cant see "last action done to your thread by moderator" since that addon simply doesnt work for vb4 yet. That would show you "Reported thread by AfterMidnight" closed by Ground Zero - so you wouldnt have seen what was done at that time either.

I hope this answered your question?
