vbulletin 4 is extremely slow and its code is retarded. Leaving ½ of the code of a newly implemented approach undone is not a professional move by the vb team.

Imo the only thing that has been improved in vb4 is the security and the design, everything else lacks.

P1raten, respect the work they put into this.

They had to modify all the users accounts structure for VB4, the way the forums were handled, all old posts, everything. Yes, it can be slow/crash at times, but thats acceptable for a faster, more easier, better layed out, and nicer system, right?

They wouldn't have moved to VB4 if they didn't think it was a good idea. They have only been using it for 2~ weeks, how can we expect all the errors to be fixed? MMOwned V1 had bugs, so did VB3, etc etc. It takes time to manage and fix them.

I highly suggest you not make threads about things I say.

Yes, the code is more-or-less 1/2 finished on creating an MVC type application.

However; the pros far outweigh the cons for using vBulletin 4.

Yes, it's slower (you guys may not notice it much, but that's due to the stuff we've been doing to make it seem faster at least), but within the next week or so I hope to have things under control. The codebase has changed considerably, so doing the things we need to do isn't an exact science yet.

vBulletin 3 was riddled with security holes, and missing features. We had well over 50 addons just to give the functionality that vb4 comes with out of the box (most of which were heavily edited to squeeze as much speed as possible).

I highly suggest you not try to speak on a topic you really know nothing about. There's a big difference between me bitching about it (because I've been working on it for hours on end for the last 2 weeks), and you knowing what I'm actually talking about.
