    Fixing the spam issue

    Problem:
<Unholy[S]haman> gaa ffs so many advertising spammer lately, are they on redbull or something?

    Solution:
<T1B> Add captchas to posting a thread when you have less then 10 posts or something

Posting it here again, since else this suggestion will disappear somewhere in the back of KuRIos's mind

Sounds like an okay idea althought most forum spamming software (I'm thinking Xrumer) have captcha decoding systems so I'm not sure how well it would work. A captcha like "What color does a purple cow have?" on the other hand is pretty solid.

Ok, just use a different captcha than the default one for that. I doubt they will spend the time to make it work with your new non-vbulletin captcha.

There's no real need for it tbh.

We get hits of spam posts at the beginning, and end, of each month. (Usually for a week long) It's almost always dealt with within a few minutes regardless.

Plus; adding a CAPTCHA for posting a thread won't make or new members any happier.

I agree with Apoc on this one. The only way a catpcha should show up, is if you have posted x amount of times withing x amount of minutes (i.e. continually pushing the wait timer for posting)

Now that's definitely something that would be worth checking into & possibly adding. I like this idea even more than the U-10 restriction.
