To a certain extent I agree, but some (really just a very few) are nice topics.

Actually, I don't think so. They are completely unnecessary... if MMOwned members play retail then they will get this kind of stuff all the time when they log into WoW etc... (Blizzard TIPS etc)

Since most MMOwned members play emu; they won't need this kind of stuff... who actually scams private server stuff srsly.

I'd say it's split but that's somewhat irrelevant.

I do agree that there is just too much repetition in that section now on how to stay safe. Lots of people rep farming the moment that the Scam Section changed to Whitehat scamming only.

Imo, if you wanted to clean it up, take the best of the ideas in ALL of those threads, create a new thread and sticky it, giving credit to whoever posted the content (repeat posts will not be credited). Then just delete the other posts.

I was about to say make a new section for all those people posting that stuff over and over, but I just checked:

Move em all there and start cleaning up that section. Seems to be the next best thing. Or do both of the things I listed, then rename the section Scam Prevention/Security.

I vote rid it all, if you READ a scam, usually you can come up with your own ANTI-scam... you dont need someone to point out the obvious for you.

If you don't like the section, do what I do, don't go in it.

I never went in the section when it was active and I've gone in it once since the changes.

Nothing wrong with all those threads..
You can call it a section for the dumb ppl, but not everyone will figure out how to prevent getting scammed. Those threads do as they should and tell them how to prevent it..
Also there are very few mmowned members who play emu a lot. There are many who plays emu now and then to have fun but I've yet to come across someone playing emu fulltime.

Also, I think those threads have a little importance, not much, because most people know how to defend themselves against those Scams.

It's really ridiculous, if one plays retails, and Blizzard has these huge messages on the left side of the screen; warning them about scams and stuff... why do they need the scams section...

If you're like most of the other people who plays Retail they have loads of addons with messages that spam on load saying "ubercooladdon name here loaded" spammed and they can't see.

I'm not making excuses for them and their lack of reading skill but there is still no need to close the section.
