I know this suggestion won't be popular among staff (for a reason that's beyond me tbh. maybe i should slam my head into the wall a few times so I can be on the same plane of thought.), but I don't care.
If the staff would prefer people like myself to report posts rather than shame the offenders in an effort to stop repeat offences, maybe you should make the report tool not suck donkey balls.
I like to use the forums in short bursts. For example, I'll be working on a project, finish a small part, decide to take a break, log on to the forums and answer all the questions from the day that I feel deserve an answer, and take care of the stupid posts. That will normally take 5-10 minutes, then I'm done for the day or whatever (unless it's a day I'm REALLY bored, or I'm waiting for a certain thread to be addressed.).
Only problem is, there's so many stupid posts. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to wait around 3 ****ing minutes between reports for a completely arbitrary reason, just to make the lives of the moderators easier. If you want us to help you, how about you help us, by lowering the outrageous timer.
I realise this has been rejected before (albeit, last time I asked I was told the timer was 30 seconds, not 3 fkn minutes), and its been said this probably won't ever happen, but I don't just want another closed thread with "noted", I want a reason. Surely if you want people to use the feature you could at least give a reason for your (what seems to be) totally arbitrary time limit.
