Thinking again about member username tags

actually he kind of has a point if a new user comes to mmowned and makes a user and see's that hes a a site noob i don't think it's that welcoming not that im against mmowned its just i've only realised it just then

Well, I could see that a few brand new members, could in fact feel kind of mad, maybe thinking they are the only ones with that title. And just immediately leave.

That user title is there for certain reasons.
If a user receives a normal user title, will he be motivated enough to post and gain rep to get out of that user title? Most likely, he will stay there and leech, but with the user title like "site n00b", that user will be motivated to post and gain rep, instead of being embarrassed and disrespected.

It's harsh, but this isn't candy land now is it? Users have to gain things with hard work! If a user is given a bunch of things like a good user title and special privileges, will he/she be motivated to achieve greater when he is already in a good place? No.

Now this is only my opinion, take it with a grain of salt.

I don't think any change should be made, it didn't stop any of us from getting past that point. Were you mentally harmed by the title?

If being called what you are is too harsh then MMOwned isn't the place for you. You could always fork out more cash with one of those crappy ass paid sites and get little to no content.

It's a title and not a name. It's like in the military you earn your Title (rank). it is the same concept here. Earn your title and move up in rank.
