Well, the fun in model editing is... model editing. The fun part is not downloading someone else's patch but making your own patch, eventually using programs you made yourself. For example, I made a patch to GM Island from scratch. I made a PHP script (No, I'm not crazy ) to clone and move a part of an existing and change the terrain's height. I used the doc from WoWDev - World of Warcraft Development to deal with .adt and .wdt files. My patch is ugly, juste a plain texture, no mountains, no grass, but I made it and it works . I gave my patch to a few friends to make a raid to the island ( [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGZpsaQkljQ]YouTube - Raid to GM Island Live 2.1.3[/ame] ) but for other public people I just make videos and screenshots.
I understand you want to share your work DK, it's pretty good. You made ModelEditFix.exe. This really rocks because thanks to this program, you reopened our playground . But releasing a noob friendly patch to GM Island kills oll the fun of making a such patch because now even the dumbest one can reach it. You give the solution to noobs while advanced skilled people are still looking for it. Only model editors should deserve to go there.
