    Warcraft 3: Hosting Issues

It's a struggle many Warcraft players have endured. It is almost impossible to escape and has lead many brave gamers to their doom. That's right, I'm talking about hosting Warcraft 3 games.

Before you click away from this thread, let me give you a basic idea on my hosting knowledge. I have gotten a computer to host before, and all was fine and grand. Now, I have a new router and a mac computer. On that note, please, don't attack me because I use a different operating system than you. It IS possible to host on a mac, but that it not my greatest concern. It's my oh so elusive router.

Computer: Mac OS X 10.5.2 Leopard

Router (This one could be wrong. I found a device that I believe is my router, but if you recognize the name as something that is not a router, let me know): Catalyst 3750 PoE-24

Don't worry if you are unsure of your own hosting expertise. Any posts that benefit me whatsoever will be showered in rep (Well, if 2 rep could be considered a shower...). Thank you!

    Well, keep trying people!

Portforward links aren't going to get you rep! I've been there, it didn't help me. Sorry!

Some routers have built in firewalls, that could prevent it, even if you properly forward your ports (may have that mixed up) but look into it if your router does.

Solutions: (make sure your software firewall has allowed WC3 to run as a server)

    1. DMZ (in your router configuration, this puts your computer virtually outside it).
    2. Port Forwarding (find the exact ports and forward them)
2b. "Ranged" Port Forwarding - If the game requires dynamical accessible ports.
    3. There's no spoon.
