My laptop came with vista. It was horrible! It took... like 10 minutes to turn on the comp, and then i downgraded to XP. Its very fast. 15-20 seconds to turn on

Y NO WERK MY COMP IS ONLY 20 YEARS OLD?
Actually, scratch that, this new one it about 6 months >.>

But yeah, Vista is so obscenely slow. Part of the "tweaks" you need to make it a reasonable speed is turning off all the shiny features vista has which make it different to xp.

Vista will be slow untill new service pack. If your playing just wow vista can run it, wow doesn't req much. If your playing games that have biggers req's I would preferef to go XP.

I'm running Vista and everything is fine! You can deactivate all the annoying security functions. For games which doesnt have Vista compatibility I use VMWare to emulate a machine which runs Windows XP or Windows 95/98. I got a dualcore pentium prozessor with 2x3 ghz and games like "Max Payne 1" run smooth, just perfect on VMWare! A second possibility would be to install Windows XP as a second Operating System on a separate partition.
