These new "When animals attack" and shows like that.

All these new shows are really starting to get on my nerves.

The announcers say "Tragically.. the wild alligator attacked the person swimming in the Florida swamps," and things like that..

    That's not tragic.

Tragic is when a wheel falls off of an airplane and lays waste to a shopping center parking lot.

An animal, be it "tame" (no animals are tame, none of them, at all. No dog is tame, no cat is tame, no rat is tame. Give the correct circumstances, they will act like animals, they will attack, or they will defend) or otherwise, attacking a human, is NOT tragic. What happened to Steve Irwin, though unfortunate, was NOT tragic. What happened Sigfried and Roy in Vegas? Not tragic. Some random bear trainer, or elephant trainer gets mutilated at the circus, not at all, in any way tragic.

It's life. It's what happens. And I wish people would stop whining about it.

hmm.. yeah, /rant is over. I suppose.

If you were killed by an animal, would you see it as tragic that you lost your life?

Re: These new "When animals attack" and shows like that.

Well.. seeing as I was killed by it.. I probably wouldn't be thinking much at all. =)

But, let's make it interesting. If a family member was killed by an animal.. It would depend.. If a rabid pitbull broke out of it's own house, broke it's way into my house, and killed one of my family members, yes, it would be tragic.

But, if we were out camping in bear territory, and one was killed by a bear, no, it wouldn't be tragic, it would be life. I would blame myself for not being there with the rifle I would surely have in that situation, but no, not at all tragic. The same thing if one of my family members was a "trainer" of one of these animals. I wouldn't think it was tragic at all.

That's my exact point. I'm not at all saying it's not a bad situation.. Because they almost always are.. But it's NOT the animal's fault. They don't "go bad." They aren't being malicious. They're being animals. And the idiots out there who are so surprised by the "attack," make me laugh.

My point is they're animals. In all of our established genius, humans think we can domesticate them. "Trained" seems to make people think that nothing can ever go wrong. In my example above.. The Lions who took out Sigfried and Roy in Vegas.. The "trained" elephants who go after their "trainers" in the circus, everything like that. If you expect them to just behave, then you're hoping for the best. I just wish people would stop crying when animals behave like animals.

Hm... I have seen a Video in which a stupid guy played around with a lion, he punched it and so on, and thought he would be save because the lion was in a cage... the lion got out and jumped on the guy... you can imagine what happend. A second person shot the animal then. Sometimes the people deserve to loose against an animal.

I think so, because my death is wasted then, I died for nothing. But if I would let me kill by an animal to protect another person, it would be ok.

No, I consider it as nature taking it's course. Or simply just me being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I don't value humans :| a death is a death if you die you die, when you die you don't see, smell, think, have desire, greed, need, contentment, etc.
    So, IMO, nope.

Tbh, humans losing their lives at all isn't tragic, don't come here and say that you cared about if that guy or that guy over there suddenly just died... Thats just idiotic. So, nothing is "tragic" when something happends to humans, it's just the way thing's goes in this world, or is the world simply just tragic?
