Why are we taught, when it isn't true, that the decimal equivalent of 1/3 is .33 bar?
THERE IS NO DECIMAL EQUIVALENT TO ONE-THIRD!
It IS true that (1/3)+(1/3)+(1/3) = 1
But it IS NOT true that (.33bar)+(.33bar)+(.33bar) = 1
I refuse to accept that. I almost failed math in middle school because of it.
I'm sorry, but (.33bar)+(.33bar)+(.33bar) == (.99bar) no matter how infinitesimally close to 1 it is.
